OUR VISION
We envision the church filled with spiritually strong, Scripturally sound believers, exercising their spiritual gifts, living the Christian life to the fullest, making disciples of all nations.
Atkins First Baptist Church is an elder-led, deacon-served, congregational church. Biblically, the focal point of all church leadership is the elder. An elder is one of a plurality of biblically qualified men who jointly shepherd and oversee a local body of believers. The word translated “elder” is used nearly twenty times in Acts and the epistles in reference to this unique group of leaders who have responsibility for overseeing the people of God. As numerous passages in the New Testament indicate, the words “elder”, “overseer”, and “pastor” all refer to the same office. In other words, overseers and pastors are not distinct from elders; the terms are simply different ways of identifying the same people.

Zach Phillips
Senior Pastor

Zach has been serving as the Senior Pastor of Atkins FBC since November 2018. He previously served Atkins FBC from 2013-2017 as Student and Worship Pastor, and also served as Youth Pastor at Central Baptist Church in Prescott, AR from 2017-2018.
Originally from Magnolia, AR, Zach grew up in a Christian home as his dad faithfully pastored several small baptist churches around Magnolia. Zach came to repentance and belief in Jesus at age 16, and later surrendered to the gospel ministry after graduating high school. He and his wife, Katie, met during their time at Central Baptist College in Conway, and have been married since 2014.
Zach is passionate about making disciples and expositional preaching. His desire for Atkins FBC is that we would be a family of believers who know and worship the Lord Jesus, and that our lives would be marked by joy-filled obedience and satisfaction in Him.
